Six steps to a parole hearing.

Every parole case is unique, but the structure is not. Here is how James Whitaker works your case from the first interview to the moment the parole certificate is printed.

Case review & face-to-face interview

Full review of prison and parole records, followed by a personal unit visit with the client — no substitutes, no staff attorneys.

Family & housing coordination

Contact family and friends to establish a credible living plan and reliable transportation for the day of release.

Build the parole arguments

Develop a tailored written argument based on the client's history, conduct, severity of offense, and applicable parole guidelines.

Submit argument & request interview

File the written parole plan and formally request an interview with the lead voter assigned to the case.

Oral presentation to Parole Board

Personally present to the Board Member or Commissioner voting on the case. Argue for immediate release and address any parole conditions.

Release tracking — or free follow-up

If approved, track the case through release processing. If denied, identify the reasons and provide free follow-up representation at the next review.
